While you eat your bun a conversation with a daisy could beautify your world. Your book sounds hugely challenging work. Take care.

Having just killed my more recent monster and and then flung it to the publisher, I know exactly what you're talking about. I got pretty immersed in bombing Ploesti on this one.

Congratulations on defeating the monster, though. I'm only slightly envious :)

That does sound quite alarming . Having an historical dream must be a sign that you haven't taken your subject in a lighthearted manor but became fully immersed ,which must be all the more rewarding for the readers. Did you have a similar experience whilst writing the other two books 📚 🤔

Yes, it was similar with the other books. Hanging around in Bismarck's Germany and the GDR are intense if now somewhat distant memories.

An unsettling experience Katja. Once you have sent the manuscript off to the publisher and before it comes back from editing take some time away from the difficult history of the 20thC. Wander in a wood, clear your mind. Away back when I first became interested in the Vietnam War I focused on Operation Frequent Wind, the helicopter airlift evacuation of Saigon in April ‘75. I had many vivid dreams of being in the city, a spectator watching the events. Too many books, in the end 800 of them. Happy Easter Katja!

I can relate, having experienced similar nights while writing my thesis. We think going to sleep will be a respite, but no! Data, spreadsheets, and bibliographies would scroll through my consciousness all night. Good luck with the book and enjoy your day off.
