A fascinating read on a sunny Sunday morning. A town with history on every corner. I was emailed by Tripsmiths and took the plunge. I am looking forward to reading your new book and then visiting Weimar. I am keen to see how the Elephant deals with its history. Does it I wonder have a problem with what we call wehraboos?

I don't know, to be honest, but they are certainly taking precautions like not pointing to the suite directly, renaming everything etc.

Great to have you onboard for the Weimar tour!

That was a very interesting historical journey thru the crucial era that set Weimar and set the scene ,always nice to have a idea in your head of how the land lies ,looking forward to reading all about it .

We stayed three nights at the Elephant in 2003 for €103 a night. Now the price is about €230. Probably accurately reflects inflation!

At the time my wife hadn't stayed in smart hotels very often, so was über-impressed by the turn-down service and the choccy on the pillow.

It is a very well-run place. I stayed there once during research (on a special offer, of course :)) and was also uber-impressed.

I was going to say that if this history thing didn’t work out, you’d make an excellent travel host, but you beat me to it!

Ha! All part of the same job :)

Guten Morgen 🌞 Frau Hoyer, wie so oft, habe ich mit Freude ihren Beitrag gelesen! Vieles war mir nicht bewusst und somit bekomme ich immer neue Anregungen zu Reisen und Entdeckungen.

Vielen herzlichen Dank 😊,

Thomas
